Your Court Card
So, moving on from the ‘life card’ of the Tarot to that of the Court Card.
Again, just like the ‘life card’ your birth date also corresponds to a Court Card in the Tarot. Much like astrology it gives you a window into the personality of the client you are working with or if you are looking at your own then your own character.
However, much like astrology if you are only looking at just at the one court Card like you might use only the Sign sun to define someone’s personality then you are going to get a very generic view of that person.
For example, any of you with a degree of knowledge in astrology will understand that many signs of the zodiac influence a person’s birth chart, not just the one and that is before you talk about houses, planets etc.
Therefore, when we are using the persons Court Card their character is so much more complex than merely following the traditional meanings of that Card. However, that is not to say that you cannot still learn a lot from it. You can as long as you aware of the limitations you are working in. However, if have been trained intuitively or are just starting to use it to explore the cards in more depth in this way, then the character Court Card can be a wonderful place to start to begin a reading and can you take you to very deep depths when exploring a person’s psyche.
This is important as you can often find that a person doesn’t really seem to match their court card at all, much like astrology when dealing with someone’s sun sign. However, they can point to hidden areas of the clients unconscious and this is what makes them such a good platform to use at a beginning of a reading.
